Kick-starting our new blog with a dessert product review and up first we have the new Hazelnut and Chocolate Crunchy Spread by Gü.

Gü is a United Kingdom based company which was formed in 2003 and produces a wide range of luxury desserts.

I was browsing the jam and nut butter isle in my local Morrisons supermarket and noticed they had added the new Hazelnut and Chocolate Crunchy Spready by Gü to their products and had been craving a Nutella type spread, so thought I would give Gü a try instead.

Gü produce three different flavours in their chocolate spread range including Velvety Chocolate & Salted Caramel Spread, Velvety Hazelnut and Chocolate Spread and their Crunchy Hazelnut and Chocolate Spread that I will be reviewing on the blog today.

Gü Hazelnut and Chocolate Crunchy Spread is 37% Hazelnuts, contains no added palm oil, is suitable for vegetarians and is also gluten free.

The British Food Blogger’s Review

This was my first time trying the new Hazelnut and Chocolate Spread from Gü and I am a massive fan of the Gü desserts, so I knew I had to give their new chocolate spreads a try.

The taste is delicious with a very rich, velvety chocolate flavour. The topping of the roasted hazelnut pieces is an excellent addition and adds a nice bite and crunch which is missing from other smooth spreads.

As you can probably see from the pictures above, I had my Gü Hazelnut and Chocolate Spread on some American style toasting waffles, which is a favorite combination of mine at the moment for satisfying my sweet tooth.

I also had some with vanilla ice cream, which was also another winning combination.

For a chocolate spread the ingredients are actually not all that bad from a health point of view, with 37% of the spread coming from healthy Hazelnuts.

Hazelnuts are a good source of vitamins, minerals, protein, dietary fiber and heart-healthy antioxidants.

At £2.50 a jar, it is on par price wise and/or slightly cheaper than Nutella and other similar branded chocolate spreads such as Malteasers and so on.

Overall: I would definitely recommend our readers who enjoy chocolate spreads such as Nutella to give the new Gü range of luxury chocolate spreads a try.
